Hey guys, hitting back to roads after very very long time for a solo travel again. However this time its a very long route, with a different vehicle and different fuel (from my previous travels) and plan to cover almost half way of India from Himachal to Maharashtra. I am writing this post to gather information on certain points and tips which are always on back of our mind before we plan any road trip.

It has been a while since Excitel announced their plan to launch and upgrade existing connection to Fiber, with higher speeds.

Prologue : Had a hectic start for the year , and without possibility of a longish road trip, decided to do a quick one to Nashik between 19-21 Jan

Googled a bit and planned to visit the following places :

Gondeshwar Temple (Sinnar)
Gargoti Museum (Sinnar)
Trimbakeshwar
Trirashmi Caves(Pandavleni)
RamKund area of Nashik city

Sule Vineyard tour was suggested by a few pals, but somehow , spending a day in a heavily "manicured" place like that, dint appeal much to us.So dropped it .

Starting this thread again this year - hope to keep it alive till the rains end

To start - monsoon hits Uttarakhand with a bang. Last 2 days its been raining in most of Uttarakhand

Cloud burst reported at two places in Uttarakhand

1 - Chamoli - Cloud Burst at Chamoli - Road blocked towards Badrinath at chamoli - yatris trapped on both sides. A hotel on NH 58 completely damaged - 4 vehicles also damaged completely - 1 yatri buried in the malba .

2 - Village Ravana, Uttarkashi - Cloud...

Shalom to all the members. It's been quite a while that I have been absent. Went through a lot health wise but alive and kicking. Had a Heart Attack, Brain Stroke, High BP, Diabetes, Diabetic Feet, Gall Blader Stone, Chikungunya etc.

To celebrate my life, I went on a roller coaster ride with my wife and daughter to Wayanad, Kerala. It was really a life altering experience which I plan to share with you all over a period of time through my photos and videos...

I started cycling about a year back. My daily commute, a 30km round trip, is now on bicycle.

At end of June when Sach Pass was finally opened, crossed sach pass from bairagarh side. Also covered chandrataal as drive exit was from rohtang pass and thought to cover chandrataal also. Below is starters. Completely log details will follow.

BRO has managed to connect Darcha to Padum via Shinku La this year. Next year, work will begin to lay tar on the road and make it smooth for travelers, locals and army.

The work is also on to connect Padum to Nimmu (near Leh) and make this road and all-weather road to Ladakh. Though for that to happen, a tunnel would have to be built under Shinku La.

At 4:45 AM the bus is almost full. We managed to get 3 seats, separated from each other. Few passengers are sleeping.
